NFL Playoffs: Giants at Packers
The final game of the weekend should be a good one. The Green Bay Packers begin their post-season quest to repeat as Super Bowl champions against a hot New York Giants that throttled the Falcons 24-2 last week. Though some are making a big deal about this being a rematch of the 2007 NFC championship game the reality is that there are not a whole many playing today that were on those rosters from four years ago.
Perhaps the key matchup will be the Giants' WR Victor Cruz versus Charles Woodson or whomever else is covering him for the Packers. Cruz has become a lethal offensive weapon - his 1536 yards receiving was third best in the NFL this year - and although the Packers defense led the league in interceptions, they also led the league in passing yards allowed and had the sixth worst yards per pass attempt.
All signs seem to be pointing to a shootout. Although the Chiefs were able to effectively limit the Packers offense a few weeks ago, I'm not convinced that the Giants will be able to duplicate that result; the Packers are simply far too talented on offense. Don't be surprised if this comes down to who has the ball last.
Prediction: Green Bay Packers 35, New York Giants 31
1 Unit on the Giants +8½
3 Units on Over 52½
