Television coverage for week 5, Jets at Pats

After a few weeks of heading out to local sports bars or dealing with choppy, spyware-infested illegal internet streams, almost all out of town Pats fans will rejoice as the upcoming Pats-Jets game will be televised in a whopping 158 television markets, as opposed to 43 that will air the game between San Diego and Denver.

CBS will use their top broadcast crew for the Pats game, with Jim Nantz calling the play-by-play and Phil Simms providing the analysis.

Most of the country will get Tennessee at Pittsburgh in the early CBS game; Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf are the announcers. WFXT in Boston will show the Eagles at Buffalo, while most other New England Fox stations will cater to Giants fans and show their game against Seattle. Even without taking the division implications into consideration I consider that Eagles-Bills matchup to be a far more interesting game than the Giants game. The Seahawks are on of the worst teams in the NFL this year and this is probably going to be the least competitive game of the week.

Here is a look at all the NFL games this week.

Early Games
Chiefs (1-3) at Colts (0-4); Indy -2; over/under 38½
Cardinals (1-3) at Vikings (0-4); Minn -2½; o/u 44½

Raiders (2-2) at Texans (3-1); Houston -6; o/u 49

Bengals (2-2) at Jaguars (1-3); Jacksonville -2½; o/u 37
Titans (3-1) at Steelers (2-2); Pittsburgh -8; o/u TBA
Seahawks (1-3) at Giants (3-1); New York -10; o/u 42

Late Games
Buccaneers (3-1) at 49ers (3-1); San Fran -1; o/u 40½
Jets (2-2) at Patriots (3-1); New England -9½; o/u 49
Chargers (3-1) at Broncos (1-3); San Diego -4; o/u 47½

Game not on in your area? Let your local television station know! I guarantee fans of other teams are making their voices heard when stations have a choice to make as to which game to broadcast; Pats fans should be doing the same.

For those that prefer a visual representation of the television coverage I will add a link to the TV maps at the506.com once that becomes available.

Edit: the Week 5 NFL maps are now available at the 506.com; you can see them here.
